Early Times Report SAMBA, June 15: In a major achievement, the Samba Police apprehended three prominent heroin smugglers from Punjab, resulting in the recovery of approximately Rs. 14 crore worth of heroin, a pistol, cash amounting to Rs. 93,200, and mobile phones. Following this success, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Benam Tosh has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the heroin smuggling and firing incident that occurred in the border village of Rangoor Camp. The SIT will be led by Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary, along with other designated members including SDPO Vijaypur, DySP Operations Samba, SHO Police Station Ramgarh, and Inspector Sham Lal of P/S Ramgarh. Under the direct supervision of SSP Samba, the SIT will conduct a meticulous investigation in consultation with prosecuting officers to ensure that no perpetrator, aider, abettor, or conspirator escapes justice. The primary goal is to uncover all the facts and dismantle the entire smuggling network involved. The case, registered under FIR No. 31/2023, encompasses charges under sections 307/392 of the IPC, 3/25 of the Arms Act, and 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act. |
