Early Times Report JAMMU, June 15: In continuation of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, the Rural Development Block of Pouni, in collaboration with the Nasha Mukt Unit, NSS, and Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College, Pouni, organized an awareness camp at the Panchayat/Block level. The objective of the event was to eradicate the menace of drugs and psychotropic substances. The camp took place at Government Degree College, Pouni, under the supervision of Principal Dr. Udhay Bhanu, whose timely advice and guidance ensured the success of the event. Dr. Prem Singh, IQAC Convener, Prof. Balbir Kumar, NSS Nodal Officer, Prof. U S Liza, RRC Nodal Officer, and Mr. Tanpreet Singh, Director of Physical Education, administered the entire event in coordination with Dr. Tarseem Kumar and Prof. Jaspal Singh. Government Degree College Pouni witnessed an overwhelming participation from students of all semesters, including NSS and RRC. The audience also comprised District Administration officials, Sarpanchs, Panchs, and Panchayat members. Mr. Tanpreet Singh, Convener of the Nasha Mukt Unit, hosted the event, welcoming the esteemed guests, professors, and the rest of the audience. He highlighted the awareness campaigns and various activities conducted by GDC Pouni to address drug addiction and trafficking. He also presented the agenda of the event. Dr. Udhay Bhanu, Principal of GDC Pouni, emphasized the detrimental impact of drug abuse on society. He elaborated on how it is affecting the younger generation and posing a serious threat to the community as a whole. Balvinder Singh, a student from the 6th semester, presented his insights on the topic of the day, confidently expressing his views. The event continued with an interactive session, where the Additional Deputy Commissioner addressed the audience and people from the audience shared the challenges they have been facing. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. U S Liza, HOD English, expressing gratitude to the ADC, District Administration officials, members of Tehsil administration, Sarpanchs, Panchs, organizing committee members, and the students.
