Early Times Report JAMMU, June 15: In commemoration of World Blood Donor Day, the Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with the NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra, under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, organized a Poster Making Competition and Pledge Ceremony. The event aimed to raise awareness among the youth about the significance of blood donation and its tremendous health benefits. Principal Dr. B.B. Anand congratulated the winners of the competition and commended all the participants for their contributions to the awareness program. He emphasized the need to sensitize students towards social responsibilities and the importance of blood donation drives among the youth in our country. Dr. Harpreet Kaur, HOD Political Science, and Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, HOD Economics, served as judges for the competition. The first prize was awarded to Akita Rajput from B.A Sem-II, the second prize was shared by Vishal Samyal from B.A Sem-IV and Ankush Singh from B.A Sem-II, and the third position went to Abhav Singh from B.A Sem-II. The entire event was organized by Dr. Satbir Kour, Convener of RRC, and coordinated by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, Programme Officer of NSS. The initiative successfully engaged students in raising awareness about blood donation and its vital role in saving lives. It emphasized the importance of encouraging more individuals, especially the youth, to become active blood donors and contribute to the well-being of society. |
