Opium, Poppy Straw Seized in Jammu Drug Bust | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 15: Jammu Police continues its relentless crackdown on drug trafficking and substance abuse, achieving a significant breakthrough with the recovery of 150 grams of opium and 80 grams of poppy straw from two individuals within the jurisdiction of PS Satwari. A team of police officers from PS Satwari, led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma, assisted by SHO PS Satwari Inspr Sumeet Sharma and I/C PP Belicharana SI Sugreev Kumar, conducted a checkpoint at Fourth Bridge Belicharana, where they apprehended two suspects traveling in a truck with registration number JK02CC-7043. Upon searching the vehicle, 150 grams of opium and 80 grams of poppy straw were seized from the accused individuals. A case, FIR No.115/2023 U/S 8/15/17 NDPS Act, has been registered at PS Satwari, and the accused have been arrested. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sohan Singh, son of Janak Singh, resident of Malpur Kot Balwal Jammu (caught with 50 grams of opium and 80 grams of poppy straw), and Manpreet Singh, son of Jagjeet Singh, resident of Talab Tillo Jammu (caught with 100 grams of opium). |
