Early Times Report JAMMU, June 16: The Central Sanskrit University Shri Ranbir Campus Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu Ayurveda and Research Institute, organized a yoga awareness program at the Yoga Center of CSU Kot Bhalwal on Friday. The program aimed to promote the benefits of yoga for maintaining a healthy mind, body, and soul. Prof. Madan Mohan Jha, Campus Director, presided over the program and emphasized the global reach of yoga, highlighting its role in promoting overall well-being. Prof. Jha emphasized that regular yoga practice can lead to improved health and purity. The significance of yoga has been particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, as those who practiced yoga, including pranayama, experienced increased lung capacity and better health. He commended the efforts of the Government of India in spreading awareness about yoga among the masses. Yoga not only enhances physical health but also positively affects the mind, brain, and soul. Pranayama, a breathing technique in yoga, helps in maintaining mental happiness and reducing stress. In today's fast-paced and stressful lifestyle, yoga provides a pathway to achieve concentration and inner peace. During the program, experts from the Jammu Ayurveda and Research Institute, including Dr. Sukhdev, Dr. Namrata Raina, Dr. Hitashi, and Dr. Sweta Chauhan, conducted a 45-minute session on common yoga protocols. They demonstrated various asanas such as Tadasana, Trikonasana, Vrikshasana, Vakrasana, Makarasana, Shalabhasana, Shavasana, Pawanmuktasana, Ardhahalasana, and Ustrasana. Additionally, they conducted Kapalbhati, Nadishodhan, Sheetali Pranayama, Bhramari Pranayama, and meditation exercises. These sessions were attended by teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, and students of the campus. The university campus has been organizing such yoga awareness programs in preparation for International Yoga Day. Dr. D Dayanath, Dr. Gopal Verma, Dr. Rajkumar Mishra, Dr. Ratan Kumar Pandey, Dr. Suman Chandra Pant, and Dr. Madan Singh were present at the event. Dr. Ravikant Tiwari coordinated the program. |
