agencies JALANDHAR, June 16: Devanarayan Rajeeb Kumar, a BSc (Hons) Physics student at Lovely Professional University (LPU), has been awarded a scholarship of over Rs 25 lakh to pursue his Master's studies in Finland. He has been granted a 100% fee waiver of 24,000 euros and a 5,000 euro grant to study "theoretical Physics" at the University of Turku (UTU). Finland, known as the 8th most educated country in the world, supports deserving students with generous scholarships. The UTU provides scholarships as part of the national Finland Scholarship program, funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. In addition to the Finland scholarship, Rajeeb has also been selected for a scholarship at the prestigious Bonn Cologne Graduate School of Physics and Astronomy at Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms Univeraität Bonn in Germany. Congratulating Rajeeb on his international recognitions, LPU Chancellor Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal advises him to acquire research-oriented skills in a foreign land for the benefit of the country and global society. Rajeeb, who has received a high-quality education at LPU, has also participated in online summer schools by ICTP Italy, the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, and IUCAA. He was selected among 50 students from India to attend the Physics Training and Talent Search (PTTS-2022). He secured the top position in the Punjab state in the National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE-2022). He was a finalist with Silver and Bronze honors in the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition and International Youth Math Challenge, respectively. Rajeeb has also published research works in two Q1-Indexed journals: Journal of High Energy Astrophysics and Chinese Physics C. The School of Chemical Engineering and Physical Sciences at LPU aims to foster curiosity and innovation in science and technology among its students. It boasts a faculty of over 100 dynamic and dedicated members from prestigious institutes like IITs, NITs, CSIR labs, and foreign universities with notable research backgrounds.
