Jammu police seizes 11 grams of heroin, arrest three peddlers | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 16: The Jammu Police have achieved a significant success in their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse. They recently recovered a total of 11 grams of heroin from three separate individuals in areas under the jurisdiction of PS Bishnah, PP Sidhra, and PP Gadigarh. The police teams involved in the operations, led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna, SDPO Nagrota Akash Kohli, and SDPO South Sachit Sharma respectively, made the arrests. At Mehmoodpur area, the police team from PS Bishnah, comprising Inspr Vikram Sharma, apprehended a suspect during a naka duty. Upon conducting a search, they discovered 5 grams of heroin in the possession of the accused, identified as Nipun Saini, son of BS Saini and resident of Greater Kailash, Jammu. The police arrested the accused and registered a case (FIR No. 151/23) under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at PS Bishnah. In a similar incident, the police team from PP Sidhra, led by Inspr Vishav Partap Singh and PSI Arun Kumar, apprehended another suspect at the Naka Point Tawi Bridge Sidhra area. The individual was traveling in a vehicle with registration number JK02BB 6170. After conducting a search, the police found 2 grams of heroin in the possession of the accused, identified as Davinder Kumar, son of Des Raj and resident of Seri Panjgrain, Tehsil Nagrota, District Jammu. The police arrested the accused and registered a case (FIR No. 265/2023) under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at PS Nagrota. Furthermore, the police team from PP Gadigarh, comprising Inspr Sumeet Sharma, Inspr Ravinder Singh, and SI Hans Raj, apprehended a suspect at the Babliana area. The individual was traveling in a vehicle with registration number JK02AU 6450. After conducting a search, the police discovered 4 grams of heroin in the possession of the accused, identified as Vinit Kumar (also known as Vinni), son of Naresh Kumar and resident of Rani Talab Digiana. The police arrested the accused, and the case is being addressed at PP Gadigarh. The Jammu Police are conducting further investigations into these cases to unravel the origins of the drug supply chain. They are actively working to eliminate the drug menace in the region and are questioning the accused thoroughly.
