Jammu, 16-06-2023: The NHPC Regional Office in Jammu organized the NHPC Inter Region Kabaddi Selection Trial/Tournament for men employees on 16th June 2023 at M.A. Stadium, Jammu. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Bikram Singh, Executive Director of NHPC Regional Office, Jammu. In his address to the players, Bikram Singh emphasized the importance of sports in maintaining physical and mental fitness. He encouraged the participants to develop their abilities and contribute to a better work culture through sports. Bikram Singh also expressed the corporation’s efforts to promote native games, particularly Kabaddi. Teams from NHPC’s different Power Stations, Projects, Regional Offices, and Corporate Office located across various states and Union Territories participated actively in the tournament. NHPC Regional Office, Chandigarh emerged as the winner of the tournament for 2023, while NHPC Regional Office, Jammu secured the runner-up title. A team of 14 best players was selected from this tournament to represent NHPC in the upcoming Kabaddi tournament organized by the Power Sports Control Board. Ashok Kumar, DSO Jammu, P. Sathyamurthi, GM (HR), S. K. Jena, GM (F), S. Luha, GM (C), Dr. R. S. Rathi, CMO, along with other senior officers of the NHPC Regional Office Jammu, sports persons, and local media persons were present during the presentation of trophies to the winning team and individual medals to the players. |
