MEERUT, June 17: Senior BJP leader, Mr. Devender Singh Rana, hailed the transformative impact of the Narendra Modi government's nine-year tenure on Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that the abrogation of Article 370 by the government had ushered in a new era of peace and development in the region, dispelling fear and hatred propagated by self-centric and exploitative politicians. Mr. Rana was addressing public meetings in Meerut and Bulandsahar Lok Sabha Parliamentary constituencies as part of the BJP's month-long Maha Jansamparak Abhiyan to showcase the government's initiatives.
Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi and the proactive administration of the Lieutenant Governor, Jammu and Kashmir has undergone a significant transformation through pathbreaking economic and developmental initiatives. The face of the region has completely changed, Mr. Rana stated.
Responding to queries about the improved situation in the Valley and the subsequent increase in tourist footfall, Rana attributed the positive changes to the people's realization of the futility of violence and their desire for peace, progress, and prosperity. He criticized vested interests who had thrived on instability and unrest for their own political gain, but have now been forced to seek political rehabilitation due to the public's preference for peace and development.
Rana also took a dig at politicians who had initially boycotted democratic exercises and now claim democracy is in danger. He questioned their commitment to democracy when they previously boycotted elections to democratic institutions like Panchayats and local bodies. He noted that these politicians treated Jammu and Kashmir as their fiefdom, considering power their birthright.
Highlighting the people's faith in peace and their rejection of dynastic entitlement to power, Rana emphasized that the BJP remains committed to stability and normalcy in the region. The Prime Minister's vision of a "Naya Jammu and Kashmir" will be realized by consolidating the gains of peace and driving economic emancipation. The significant influx of pilgrims, nature enthusiasts, and adventure tourists has brought cheer to the lives of many engaged in the tourism industry. Rana acknowledged that peace is crucial for the prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir, making tourism a vital sector.
Rana also mentioned the influx of domestic and foreign investments for infrastructure development, which will usher in a new era of growth and job creation in Jammu and Kashmir. The region's future looks promising, with equal opportunities for progress and development available to all segments of society, regardless of religion, region, caste, or ethnicity-a testament to the Prime Minister's agenda of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Pryas" (Together with All, Development for All, Trust of All, Efforts of All).
