| Massive protest rally against electricity charges in migrant camps | | | Jammu, June 19: Today, the All Party Action Committee Migrant Camps organized a massive protest rally, starting from Lane No. 1 Sugar Park Jagti and marching towards National Highway. The rally aimed to strongly protest against the government’s order to charge electricity fees from people residing on a temporary basis in various migrant camps in Jammu District. The rally witnessed an overwhelming participation of more than 3000 individuals, including elders, youth, women, and children, who unitedly demanded the revocation of the government’s order to charge electricity bills from camp migrants. After three hours of peaceful protest, the rally concluded on the National Highway with the administration assuring the protestors that their demands would be considered by the government. The All Party Action Committee expressed their appreciation to the residents of Jagti and TRT Nagrota camps for their peaceful participation in making the rally a success. They remain hopeful for further cooperation from the community to ensure that their demands are accepted by the government.
