Samba, June 19: The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Benam Tosh, rewarded Selection Grade Constable Kamal Kishore for his pivotal role in apprehending the accused involved in the Rangoor firing and heroin smuggling case. At a felicitation ceremony held at the District Police Headquarters in Samba, SGCT Kamal Kishore was honored with a cash reward of Rs. 5,100 along with a commendation certificate for displaying exemplary professionalism in capturing three top heroin smugglers. During the event, SSP Samba, Addl. SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, and other officers of District Police Samba lauded the courageous action of SGCT Kamal Kishore, who apprehended the interstate heroin smugglers while they were attempting to flee the scene of the crime after firing at locals in Rangoor camp Ramgarh. The arrest led to the recovery of 2.080 kg of heroin valued at approximately 14 crore, along with a pistol, a magazine, ammunition, and Rs. 93,200 in cash. The case has been successfully solved. SSP Samba mentioned that SGCT Kamal Kishore is a highly dedicated, disciplined, and punctual official of J&K Police, and he will also be recommended for a suitable reward at the PHQ (Police Headquarters) level. Benam Tosh emphasized that there are numerous officers and officials in the police force who are tirelessly working to eradicate the deadly menace of heroin (known as ‘chitta’) and protect the youth from falling victim to narco-terrorism. He further stated that bravery, innovation, and initiative displayed by officers and officials while performing their duties will be generously rewarded. |
