APS Damana celebrates 9th International Yoga Day with Zeal

JAMMU, June 21: Army Public School Damana commemorated the ninth International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2023, within the school premises. The theme for the event was 'Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' symbolizing the well-being of all through yoga - 'One World, One Family, One Future.'
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including Pushpinder Kaur (Principal APS Damana), Shallu Kapoor (Vice Principal), educators, administrative staff, and students. Kailash Kumari, the Yoga Instructor and PRT NCC ANO, welcomed the participants and emphasized the unifying power of yoga along with its numerous benefits. The yoga session commenced with the enchanting of the Peace Mantra. Vishal Mehra, PRT PE, provided insights into the significance of yoga in everyday life and its individual benefits.
The session featured demonstrations of various asanas, with enthusiastic participation from the faculty, staff, and students. Participants were introduced to Yogasanas such as Kapalbharti, Suryanaamskaar, Pranayama, Dhyana, Sankalpa, and Meditation. The yoga instructors enlightened the participants about the scientific relevance and importance of yoga, emphasizing how regular practice can help reduce stress and promote a healthier body and mind. The event witnessed active participation with great enthusiasm, encouraging attendees to prioritize their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
In her closing address, Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Damana, advocated for the integration of yoga in every household, echoing the CBSE's message of 'Har Aangan Yog.' She encouraged students and staff to incorporate yoga into their daily routines, highlighting its customizable nature to cater to individual needs. Kaur expressed appreciation for the efforts of the organizing team in making the event remarkable. The celebration concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by light refreshments for all participants.
