Early Times Report JAMMU, June 22: NSS Unit I and Unit II of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt College for Women Gandhinagar enthusiastically celebrated the International Day of Yoga from 20th to 22nd June, 2023. The celebrations included various activities and participation from the Principal, NSS Coordinator, NSS Programme officers, and NSS Volunteers. On the first day, NSS Volunteers practiced Yoga with their families at home and shared pictures on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to spread the impact of Yoga Day. On the second day, NSS Coordinator Prof Mala Bhasin, NSS Programme officers of Unit I (Prof Sugandha Mahajan) and Unit II (Prof Anupama Sharma), along with NSS Volunteers, participated in a Yoga demonstration organized at Govt MAM College in collaboration with educational NGO HEARTFULLNESS. On the final day, an awareness session on the benefits of Yoga was conducted, where NSS Volunteers learned about the holistic approach of Yogic exercises for individual well-being. They were informed about the positive impact of Yoga on mental and physical health, including mindfulness, improved brain power, stress reduction, flexibility, and enhanced breathing. During the concluding ceremony, the College Principal, Prof Minu Mahajan, congratulated the NSS team for their efforts and emphasized the transformative power of Yoga on both physical and mental performance. The event revolved around the theme of 'Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' symbolizing the collective aspiration for a united and harmonious world. |
