Early Times Report

Srinagar, June 25: Raman Suri, Executive Member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K, expressed his satisfaction as the foundation stone for the Balidan Stambh (Martyrs’ Memorial) was laid by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Pratap Park in Srinagar. Suri emphasized that the memorial, a project under the Srinagar Smart City initiative, would serve as an inspiration for the youth, steering them away from violence and towards a positive path. He lamented the neglect of soldiers’ sacrifices by previous governments and stressed the BJP’s commitment to honoring their bravery.
The ceremony, attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and other dignitaries, took place near Lal Chowk, the bustling city center of Srinagar. Raman Suri expressed his disappointment that the sacrifices of soldiers had gone unrecognized for many years under the administrations of Congress, National Conference (NC), and People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Highlighting the BJP government’s dedication to honoring martyrs, Suri emphasized that the sacrifices made by soldiers and police officers in bringing peace to Kashmir would never be forgotten. The Balidan Stambh at Pratap Park would serve as a lasting tribute to these brave individuals, ensuring that their memory perseveres. Suri also praised the current generation of Kashmiri youth, who are actively pursuing peace, development, education, and various other avenues instead of idolizing terrorists.
Raman Suri believed that Pratap Park, located near the vibrant Lal Chowk, was the perfect setting for this solemn memorial. He expressed his hope that the monument would inspire the impressionable minds of the youth, redirecting them away from misguided pursuits. The unveiling of the Balidan Stambh marked a new era of remembrance and reverence, acknowledging the unwavering commitment and indomitable spirit of the courageous soldiers.
The memorial stands as a symbol of gratitude, remembrance, and eternal appreciation for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Raman Suri emphasized the significance of immortalizing their bravery, ensuring that their legacy remains ingrained in history for generations to come. The Balidan Stambh is not just a physical structure but a testament to the valor and selflessness of the soldiers who fought for the nation.
