Early Times Report
Jammu, July 2: Natrang Studio Theatre presents “Rehearsal,” a Hindi play written by Lakshmi Kant Vaishnav and directed by Neeraj Kant. The play, featured in the Sunday Theatre series, cleverly mocks individuals who pursue endeavors without proper knowledge or qualifications. It showcases the rehearsal process of an all-female cast, known as the Kitty-mates, who aspire to deliver a remarkable performance but lack the necessary professionalism. The play emphasizes the absence of essential qualities such as discipline, punctuality, team spirit, self-motivation, and neutrality, instead highlighting traits like jealousy, gossip, coordination issues, and egotism among the actresses. The rehearsal quickly spirals into chaos as each cast member dramatically expresses her thoughts. Despite the presence of a director, her own limitations and lack of authority prevent her from effectively controlling the team. Instead of acting compassionately towards their fellow artists, the actresses prioritize their own whims and desires. Some even exhibit a sense of entitlement due to their husbands’ high-ranking positions, expecting preferential treatment. Ultimately, the chaotic rehearsal serves as a stern reminder that discipline and commitment are essential for creating meaningful works of art. The play features talented young actors, including Vrinda Gujral, Manvi Bhushan, Saanchi Dutta, Saanvi Anand, Mehak Chib, Reet Sethi, Gun Sethi, Shranaya Mahajan, and Prial Gupta. Neeraj Kant operates the lighting, Mahikshit Singh handles the presentations, and Mohd. Yaseen coordinates the show. |
