Three days long Yagya on Vyas Purnima concluded at Kathua”

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 3; “There is a need to listen and follow the teachings of Vedas which are universally applicable to all human beings, irrespective of caste, color, and creed,” said Swami Ram Swaroop Ji Yoga Acharaya during the conclusion of the three-day Yagya on Vyas Purnima at Kathua.
Vyas Purnima, known as the full moon day during the Ashada month, is traditionally reserved for Guru Puja Day and commemorates the birth anniversary of Ved Vyas, who compiled the Vedas.
The three-day Yagya was organized in Kathua, attracting devotees from Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab. The participants offered their Ahuties (ritualistic offerings) amidst the chanting of Vedic Mantras. Swami Ji, in his sermons, urged the devotees to follow the Vedic path, emphasizing that the Holy Vedas have directly emanated from God and their teachings promote peace and universal brotherhood.
Swami Ji also emphasized the importance of imbibing the virtues and conduct exemplified by Lord Rama, excelling in both material and spiritual pursuits. He further stressed the inclusion of Vedic studies in the school curriculum, urging children to embrace spiritual pursuits from a young age. Given the perpetual violence and hatred in society, Vedic knowledge among children holds great relevance.
Throughout the three-day event, devotees from North India immersed themselves in the spiritual bliss of Vedic mantras. Sh. Rajeev Jasrotia, a former Minister of the J&K Government, served as the yajman (chief sponsor) for this auspicious Yagya on Vyas Purnima.
