GRP Jammu recovers stolen Gold Ornaments and arrests thieves | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 3: The GRP Jammu officials have successfully busted a gang of thieves and recovered all the stolen gold ornaments. Acting on a complaint filed by a lady railway passenger, it was reported that her golden ornaments went missing while traveling on train No. 12431 (Udhampur AC Special Express) upon reaching Jammu Railway Station. She suspected the involvement of some passengers who boarded the train at Bari-brahmana Railway Station. In response to the complaint, an FIR was registered at the GRP Jammu Police Station, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed under the supervision of Smt. Albeena Malik, SDPO Railways Jammu, following the directions of Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Railways Jammu. Through a joint effort with the Haryana Police, it was discovered that the suspects were from Haryana. With the dedicated efforts of Inspr. Niaz Ahmed, SHO PS GRP Jammu, and the Haryana police, the whereabouts of the suspected thieves were traced. An GRP team led by Inspector Madan Lal Sharma was dispatched to Amballa city, where one of the accused was arrested on June 19, 2023. Following the disclosure by the arrested individual, all the stolen golden ornaments were successfully recovered. The recovered items include approximately 200 grams of gold ornaments worth around 13 lakhs, along with ₹30,000 in cash. The GRP Jammu’s swift action and coordination with other law enforcement agencies have led to the apprehension of the thieves and the recovery of the stolen property. |
