Jammu police seizes 06 grams of heroin, arrests three peddlers

Jammu, July 8: In their continued efforts to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved a significant breakthrough by recovering 06 grams of heroin from three individuals within the jurisdictions of PS Nowabad and PS Nagrota.
A police team from PP Canal, led by Dy. SP Hqrs Dr Sunniya Wani, with the assistance of SHO PS Nowabad Inspr Surinder Raina and I/C PP Canal PSI Mohd Younis Khanday, apprehended a suspicious person named Sahil, son of Yashpaul, residing in Surya Vihar near NMS College Anand Nagar Bohri during a naka duty near Bhagwati Nagar. A search yielded the recovery of 03 grams of heroin from his possession. The accused was subsequently arrested, and a case FIR No. 108/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Nowabad.
Similarly, another police team from PP Sidhra, led by SDPO Nagrota Akash Kohli, along with SHO PS Nagrota Inspr Vishav Partap Singh and I/C PP Sidhra PSI Arun Kumar, intercepted a vehicle with registration number JK02AV 1071 at Naka Point Tawi Bridge Sidhra. Two individuals in the vehicle were found in possession of 03 grams of heroin. They were identified as Ankit Koul, son of Ashok Kumar Koul, residing in Lane No 09 Flat No 8 Block No 49 Jagi Colony, and Sahil Ganjoo, son of Shubam Lal Ganjoo, residing in Flat No 08 Lane No 16 Block No 79 Jagti Colony Tehsil Nagrota district Jammu. A case FIR No. 287/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at PS Nagrota, and the accused were arrested. Jammu Police is actively investigating the case to uncover the origin of the drug supply chain. They continue to work diligently to combat drug trafficking in the region. The police urge the public, especially the youth, to come forward and share any information about drug peddling or consumption by contacting 9086100100 or 100. All identities will be kept confidential as part of the effort to eradicate the drug menace.
