7/8/2023 10:38:55 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

SAMBA, July 8: In a significant achievement, Samba Police, under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh, has successfully arrested four female heroin suppliers, including the notorious and most wanted supplier known as “Bachi” (Saleema Bibi) from Balole, Bari Brahmana, in the Samba district.
The arrested female heroin suppliers have been identified as Saleema Bibi alias Bachi, wife of Murad Ali alias Chuchu, residing in Balole Nallah, Bari Brahmana district Samba; Gunna Bibi, wife of Kaga Gujjar, residing in Sidhra, Jammu district; Fullan Bibi, wife of Teg Ali, residing in Chak Baggian, Vijaypur district Samba; and Salima Bibi, wife of Mansha, residing in Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur district Samba.
Acting on a specific tip-off regarding the movement of the most wanted heroin supplier and her associates from Kathua to Samba, a joint police team consisting of the District Anti-NDPS team and Police Post Supwal, led by Incharge PP Supwal PSI Deepika Jalotra, set up a checkpoint near NHW Supwal. They conducted thorough checks of passenger and private vehicles and apprehended four suspicious women, who were later identified as “Bachi” of Balole and three other female smugglers, two of whom were also involved in an attack on the police near Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur. The accused were handed over to the concerned police stations, and subsequent arrests were made by the respective police teams.
“Bachi” of Balole was a high-profile target due to her involvement in heroin smuggling and supplying to youth across several districts, including Samba, Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban, Doda, and Kishtwar. Her arrest marks a significant breakthrough for the police, as she had managed to evade capture in the past during special operations and raids. Recently, she had shifted her hideout from Balole Nallah to Sidhra, Jammu, due to increased police presence and intensified patrolling around Balole Nallah. She would visit Samba disguised as an innocent lady, using different names to supply heroin to the local youth.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Benam Tosh informed that a total of 58 heroin suppliers, including 12 female narco-suppliers, have been arrested by Samba Police in the past six months. The police remain committed to arresting all other heroin smugglers against whom FIRs have been registered. Additionally, two hardcore heroin suppliers have been detained and are currently held in jail under the stringent PIT NDPS Act.
