Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, July 8: Today, the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) hosted a special awareness session on the Right to Information (RTI) Act for the Probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police (Prob. Dy.SsP) who are currently undergoing a one-year Basic Induction Course. The session aimed to educate and inform the officers about the significance of the RTI Act and its relevant provisions. Monika Kohli, Additional Advocate General of Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh High Court, was invited as the guest faculty for this enlightening session. The event began with a warm welcome from Rajinder Kumar Gupta, JKPS, SSP, and Deputy Director (Indoor, Training) of SKPA, who provided a brief introduction about the Probationary Dy.SsP and their comprehensive training curriculum. During the interactive awareness session, Monika Kohli, the esteemed guest faculty, provided a comprehensive overview of the RTI Act, emphasizing its importance and discussing relevant sections. She also highlighted the do's and don'ts for government officers and Public Information Officers (PIOs) when providing information under the RTI Act. Furthermore, Kohli shed light on the provisions of penalties for non-submission and delayed submission of information under the RTI Act. The session witnessed active participation from the Probationary Officers, who raised various queries. These queries were collectively addressed by Monika Kohli and Rajinder Kumar Gupta, JKPS, SSP. The faculty members of SKPA were also present at the awareness session, further enriching the discussions.
