IIT Jammu's entrepreneurial bootcamp leaves lasting impact on school students

JAMMU, July 8: The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu), in partnership with the Entrepreneurship and Rural Development Centre (ERDC) India and the National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research (NITTTR) Chandigarh, recently concluded a highly impactful Five-Day Residential Bootcamp titled "Enlightening the Entrepreneurial Spirit." Held at the picturesque Jagti campus, this event aimed to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among school students and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge for future success.
Esteemed dignitaries, including Prof Manoj Gaur (Director of IIT Jammu), Dr Nidhi Gautam (Associate Professor at University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University), Mr Sunil Paarcha (Organising Secretary of Swadeshi Jagran Manch J&K), Mr Chetan Sahore (Head of ERDC), Ms Sonal Sharma (Principal of Army Public School Ratnuchak), Ms Pushpinder Kaur (Principal of Army Public School Damana), and the dedicated ERDC team, graced the event with their presence.
Under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, the Entrepreneurial Boot Camp made a significant impact by igniting the entrepreneurial spirit within the participating students. The comprehensive program covered essential topics such as personality assessment, idea generation, business planning, legalities, funding, pitching, and exploration of government initiatives supporting entrepreneurship.
Guided by experts, the students identified their preferred ideas, developed business plans and canvases, and presented mock pitches for funding. The winning team, consisting of Hiren Nayyar, Devansh Raina, Harsh Rachyal, and Dhairya Mahajan, impressed the esteemed gathering with their outstanding idea - Animex Shoes.
In recognition of their exceptional performance throughout the residential bootcamp, Devansh Rana, Swantika Chib, and Akhshat Singh received special certificates.
Moreover, students Vansh Mahajan from Dayanand International Public School Pathankot, Mandeep Kaur from Army Public School Ratnuchak, and Yamuna Goyal from BCM Arya School Ludhiana shared their valuable experiences from the bootcamp, inspiring the attentive audience with their insights.
The Entrepreneurial Boot Camp organized by IIT Jammu, in collaboration with ERDC and NITTTR Chandigarh, has made a lasting impression on the participating school students. By imparting invaluable knowledge, fostering innovation, and cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset, this transformative event has set them on a path toward a prosperous future.
