Early Times Report SAMBA, July 12: In a significant operation, Samba Police apprehended two notorious narco-suppliers and seized approximately Rs 50,000 worth of heroin, 1.450 kg of opium straw, and Rs 12,460 in cash. The arrested individuals have been identified as Govind Sharma, son of Kuldeep Kumar, a resident of Samba, and Sham Sunder, son of Tillo Ram, from Chak Salarian, Ramgarh district, Samba. Govind Sharma was caught red-handed within the jurisdiction of Vijaypur Police Station, with heroin "Chitta" worth approximately Rs 50,000 and cash of Rs 12,460. A case (FIR No. 84/2023) under sections 8/21/22/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered against him at Vijaypur Police Station. Similarly, Sham Sunder was arrested in the jurisdiction of Ramgarh Police Station, with 1.450 kg of opium straw. A case (FIR No. 38/2023) under section 8/15 of the NDPS Act has been filed at Ramgarh Police Station. The operations were carried out by the police teams from Vijaypur Police Station and Ramgarh Police Station, under the direct supervision of Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary. SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, reported that a total of sixty (60) narco-suppliers have been arrested by the Samba Police in the past six months, leading to a significant reduction in illicit narcotics trade in the district. The diligent efforts of the police have contributed to the eradication of this menace from the region. |
