Police seizes 5 kilograms of Ganja, arrests one peddler | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 12: In a significant achievement in their fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police recovered 5 kilograms of ganja from an individual in the jurisdiction of PS Gandhi Nagar. A police team led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma, along with SHO PS Gandhi Nagar Inspr. Pankaj Sharma and I/C PP Digiana PSI Balbir Singh, apprehended a suspect during a naka duty near Peer Baba Rani Talab Digiana Jammu. Upon searching the suspect, 5 kilograms of ganja was recovered. The accused, identified as Lakeshru Patel, hailing from Chhattisgarh and residing at Greater Kailash Jammu, was arrested. A case under FIR No. 172/2023 U/s 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Gandhi Nagar. The successful operation was carried out under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid. Further investigation is underway to trace the origin of the drug supply chain. Jammu Police is committed to eradicating the drug menace and creating awareness among the youth.
