Early Times Report JAMMU, July 14: The Department of Population Education, Girls Education, ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education), and Education for All organized a three-day Training Programme from July 11th to July 13th, 2023. The programme focused on the Initial Professional Preparation of ECCE educators in primary schools. The event was conducted under the mentorship of Prof. (Dr) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director of JKSCERT (Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training), and with the guidance of H.R. Pakhroo, Joint Director of JKSCERT, Jammu. The inaugural session of the programme was attended by Swaran Singh Jaral, Professor and Head AU-II, along with N.P. Singh, Associate Professor and Head-ECCE, Kishore Kumar, Associate Professor, Dr. Sanjeevani, Assistant Professor, and Deepak Sharma, Senior Academic Officer. The event saw the participation of 40 teachers, masters, and DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) faculty from ten districts of Jammu Division. Neeraj Jamwal, Academic Officer at SCERT J&K, coordinated the training programme. The training sessions focused on the aims, curricular goals, competencies, and learning outcomes at the foundational stage of education. The well-being of the child was emphasized through various interactive methods, including storytelling, activities, and case studies. Additionally, the training programme highlighted the major domains of NEP2020 (National Education Policy 2020), which encompassed educational patterns at different stages of early childhood care. Special attention was given to mother tongue, holistic development of learners, and character building. Resource persons for the training programme included Monika Dogra, Neena Puri, Anil Sharma, Shazia Kousar, Arsh Kour, and. Jyoti Sudan, who are Academic Officers of SCERT JK. The programme concluded with presentations and a feedback session from participants representing different districts. Certificates of Appreciation were presented to all the participants, and Neeraj Jamwal, the coordinator of the programme, delivered the vote of thanks. This training programme aimed to enhance the professional skills and knowledge of ECCE educators, enabling them to provide quality education and care to young children in primary schools.
