IIT campus in Abu Dhabi is remarkable contribution towards global education: Raman Suri | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 16: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri said, known for his productive visits, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has signed another remarkable agreement with UAE wherein both India and UAE will start trading in Rupee and open an IIT-Delhi campus in the Gulf Country. While the former initiative will ease business processes and facilitate smoother operations, the latter one will educate and equip individuals with technical knowledge to contribute to global efforts, a priority shared by every country. Raman Suri said that this is most unfortunate that opposition leaders, blinded with enmity and personal grudges against Modi, will not see these historic steps as achievements and instead will stay mum. Their narrow-minded approach towards the nation is not allowing them to grow and call a spade a spade. Anyways, India, one after another is meeting its targets and progressing by leaps and bounds. The BJP leader said that within a week's span, India signed agreements to purchase Rafale aircrafts from France, started trade in Rupee in France, launched Chandrayaan-3 on moon and now signed another historic agreement with UAE to trade in rupee as well as set up an IIT-Delhi campus, which is a proud moment for Indians. Aimed at deepening multi-faceted bilateral ties, such offshore campus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), the prestigious institutions of India, will take the demeanour beyond the Indian peninsula. The offshore campus is scheduled to be mentored by the Indian higher educational institutions, said Raman Suri. He further added that trade settlement in local currencies, linking the Fast Payment Systems of India and the UAE, besides an IIT campus in the Gulf country will open new vistas for people of both the countries and, also address several global issues. He hoped that more such IIT offshore campuses are set up in several other countries as well, so that India develops stronger relationships with the nations and produce world-class engineers who can deal with global issues. Since these institutions will be providing degrees in several areas such as Energy and Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Engineering, Healthcare, Mathematics and Computing and other disciplines of engineering, science, and humanities, those passing out from these institutions will be able to tackle various issues ably. This is the power of Indian education system and new National Education Policy (NEP) brought in by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Raman Suri. |
