Reasi police arrested: Six gamblers apprehended in Katra, stake money seized

REASI, July 30: As part of its ongoing efforts to combat social crimes, the District Police in Reasi achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending six individuals involved in gambling activities. The police action took place in the Katra area, and a total sum of Rs. 23,800/-, which was being used as stake money, was recovered from the arrested gamblers.
The police received specific information regarding the presence of gamblers in the Katra locality. Acting swiftly, a police team from the Katra Police Station conducted a well-coordinated raid at a gambling site. During the raid, six individuals were caught red-handed while engaging in gambling activities. The police promptly arrested them on the spot and seized the stake money of Rs. 23,800/-, along with playing cards used in the illegal activity.
The names and details of the arrested gamblers are as follows:
1. Satpal Singh, son of Chain Singh
2. Kuldeep Singh, son of Daler Singh
3. Shamsher Singh, son of Chain Singh
4. Karnail Singh, son of Chain Singh
5. Hari Singh, son of Chain Singh All residents of Arli Road, Katra
6. Bodh Raj, son of Late Sh. Shankar Dass Resident of Ward No. 4, Panthal Road, Katra
The Police Station Katra has registered a case against the arrested individuals under the relevant sections of the Gambling Act. Further investigation into the matter has been initiated to gather more evidence and to ascertain if there are any other individuals involved in the unlawful activity.
The successful operation was led by SHO P/S Katra, Inspector Nishant Gupta, under the able supervision of SDPO Katra, Surinder Singh-JKPS, and overall guidance from SP Katra, Vipin Chandran-JKPS.
The District Police in Reasi continues to remain vigilant and committed to rooting out social crimes from the community. Such actions serve as a stern warning to those involved in illegal activities that they will face the full force of the law.
