7/31/2023 10:14:46 PM
Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, July 31: Juhi Pathania, Vice Chairperson District Development Council Udhampur emphasised on the need for emancipation of women in all spheres.
Addressing a one day sensitisation program attended by a whopping number of women in village Sunal(Hatli) of Tehsil Majalta, she said a slew of programmes and path breaking initiatives pivoting around women's welfare have been spelled out by Bharat Sarkar. She called upon women to act as harbingers of such schemes and policies. And to motivate all such eligible groups and sections to benefit, at the maximum, out of such schemes. "Once these schemes are implemented on the ground, entire realm of women welfare is about to change' she maintained. She elaborated that with the advent of a people's friendly government in 2014, a plethora of women-centric steps and initiatives have been filed out. May it be reservation for women in Panchayats, District Development Councils, Block Development Councils, push for women entrepreneurs, women constituting the bedrock of Aatmannirbhar Bharat, social security schemes, so and so forth. "It becomes pretty clear that the idea and political will of the government is in ensuring that women progress in all spheres of activity that may be from political to defence. Women flying fighter jets, commercial planes, bordering the brave frontiers of the country has not only enhanced the aura of women folk but the idea of India itself"she said and quoted the Hindu scriptures and said that even gods remain unhappy where women are disrespected.
The perception and perspective of society has changed. And so is the case with that of establishment and powers-that-be too. Various global surveys have highlighted that Herculean steps have been taken in our country for the upliftment and improvement of women in almost all spheres of life.
Pathania also inaugurated the work of construction of R/wall, B/wall and Drain along the Mahalanga to Halti road. The work is being executed by the Department of PWD with an estimated cost of 15 lakh.
The Vice Chairperson said that the execution of this work will protect the road from heavy rains and floods and reduce the inconvenience to the people.
She also took stock of the public grievances projected by the PRIs and general public which included shortage of staff in various schools of Tehsil Majalta, forest clearance of Thial to Chountra Mata road, issues of Sehal to Lyani road, work on Gadiana Kut road and Sortha road Chore Mottu to Joffer road via Soan, damages to bridge on Majalta to Sartari road due to flash floods.
The Vice Chairperson issued appropriate instructions to the concerned departments for redressal of the problems projected by the people.
Prominent among those who remain present on the occasion included Sham Lal Panch, Munshi Ram Panch, Madhubala Panch, Narinder Sharma Panch, Kuldeep Singh Ex Sarpanch, Shiv Ram, Ved Sharma, Subhash Chander, Haji Mohd., Tirlok Chand, Om Parkash and others.
