GDC Sidhra participates in HIV/AIDS awareness program at youth fest | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 31: In a bid to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, Govt. Degree College Sidhra actively participated in an Awareness Programme on prevention of HIV/AIDS, which was organized in the form of a Youth Fest by Govt. College for Women, Parade, in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society. The event took place on July 31, 2023, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The highlight of the event was a Marathon that commenced from Radisson Blu and culminated at the University of Jammu. The event aimed to educate students about HIV/AIDS issues, introduce them to the concept of Red Ribbon Club units, and familiarize them with the club's objectives. Nodal Officer of Red Ribbon Club at Govt. Degree College Sidhra, Dr. Satbir Kour, played a pivotal role in guiding and accompanying the students during the marathon. As part of the program, students engaged in interactive sessions, displaying immense zeal and enthusiasm throughout the event. In the thrilling Marathon, Asrat Ahmed from B.A. Sem-V claimed the first position, followed by Neha Khokhar from B.A. Sem-V securing the second position, and Zabir Ahmed from B.A. Sem-III taking home the third position. The organizers, along with the J&K AIDS Control Society, extended their gratitude to all participants and actively involved Nodal Officers from various colleges. The students were further rewarded for their involvement with refreshments, encouraging them to be proactive in spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS and contributing to the Red Ribbon Club's initiatives. The event proved to be a resounding success, fostering a sense of community and responsibility among the young minds of Govt. Degree College Sidhra and promoting a positive impact on HIV/AIDS awareness in the region. |
