GDC Ramgarh empowers youth with "Angdaan se Jeevan Daan" poster making competition

RAMGARH, Aug 3: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-Prabha of Government Degree College Ramgarh, in association with the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, celebrated "Angdaan Mahotsav" with great fervor and enthusiasm. As part of the celebrations, a Pledge Taking Ceremony and a Poster Making Competition on "Angdaan se Jeevan Daan" were organized. The event aimed to raise awareness about the noble cause of organ donation and its life-changing impact on others.
Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the esteemed Principal of the College, provided guidance and leadership in organizing the programme. In her address, she highlighted the significance of organ donation and emphasized that it is a way to live twice, as one can save another life through this selfless act. Prof. Andotra encouraged everyone present to come forward and take the pledge to donate organs, contributing to the well-being of society.
Dr. Shamsher Lal, the NSS Program Officer, shed light on the importance of "Angdaan," stating that even after our passing, we have the power to bring happiness to someone's life by donating organs. He urged all attendees to recognize this noble cause and work together to spread awareness about organ donation.
The poster making competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students from the college. Alisha Menia of the 3rd semester secured the first position, followed by Prinka Devi of the 3rd semester in the second position, and Ms. Bandhana Rani of the 5th semester in the third position. The judging panel consisted of Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Shamsher Lal, and Prof. Risha Kumari, who appreciated the creativity and dedication of the participants.
The Pledge Taking Ceremony was conducted by NSS volunteer Vimal Singh, where all enrolled students and faculty members actively took the pledge to donate their organs.
The event saw the presence of esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Shamsher Lal, and Prof. Risha Kumari, who actively supported and encouraged the participants.
The "Angdaan se Jeevan Daan" Poster Making Competition organized by GDC Ramgarh has undoubtedly succeeded in inspiring the youth to embrace the cause of organ donation and work collectively towards creating a positive impact on society. The event's success is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the college in promoting humanitarian causes and encouraging active participation from students in noble initiatives.
