Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 6: Under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), the NSS Units of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, organized a Panch Pran pledge taking ceremony to celebrate India's 76th year of Independence. The event, themed "Meri Mati Mera Desh" and "Mitti ko Naman, Veeron ka Vandan," aimed to commemorate the spirit of freedom and instill the five resolves of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as mentioned during the Independence Day 2023 address to the nation.
The ceremony witnessed the active participation of the college's Principal, staff, and students, who took the pledge with great fervor and enthusiasm. Karan from B.Com Sem. 4th eloquently delivered the pledge in both English and Hindi languages. Dr. Surinder Kumar, the college's Principal, provided valuable insights into the significance of the Panch Pran pledge and emphasized the commitment to the five key actions.
During the ceremony, students and faculty members held a symbolic gesture by taking soil (matti) in one hand and a diya (lamp) in the other, pledging their dedication towards the development and progress of the nation.
The successful execution of the program was possible due to the coordination and efforts of Prof. Deepshikha Sharma and Prof. Apfan Ali, the NSS Programme Officers of the college. Several other esteemed faculty members were also present on the occasion, including Prof. Barbara Kaul, HoD Commerce, Prof. Savita Jamwal, HoD Economics, Dr. Monika Malhotra, Prof. Deepshikha Sharma, Dr. Deepak Pathania, Dr. Roomi Rani, and Dr. Sarabjeet Kour Sudan.
The Panch Pran pledge ceremony was a celebration of patriotism, unity, and commitment towards building a stronger and prosperous India. It further underscored the college's dedication to promoting the values of the nation's freedom struggle and its contributions towards nation-building in the present and future.
