Kavinder Gupta slams Rahul Gandhi’s undignified act in Lok Sabha
8/9/2023 10:32:18 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 9: Kavinder Gupta, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former Deputy Chief Minister, has strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi, a leader of the Congress party, for his recent inappropriate actions in the Lok Sabha. Gupta labeled Gandhi’s flying kiss gesture towards Union Minister Smriti Irani during a Parliamentary session as undignified and indecent.
In a statement released today, Gupta expressed his concerns about the lack of decorum and respect exhibited by Rahul Gandhi towards the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. Gupta condemned Gandhi’s actions, particularly pointing out that the flying kiss was directed at Smriti Irani while she was addressing the House.
Gupta highlighted that this is not the first instance of Rahul Gandhi behaving inappropriately within the Lok Sabha.
He referred to a past incident in July 2018 when Rahul had walked across the aisle to hug Prime Minister Narendra Modi after concluding his speech during a no-confidence motion against the Council of Ministers. Following the hug, Rahul winked as a sign of victory.
Emphasizing the historical significance of the Lok Sabha, Gupta stated, “Throughout its history, the Lok Sabha has maintained a high standard of decorum and respect. Parliament is the temple of democracy, and such actions undermine its sanctity and the seriousness of the issues being discussed.” Gupta added that this behavior perpetuates a misogynistic mindset and reflects poorly on the values of the Congress party.
Gupta concluded by asserting that Rahul Gandhi should apologize to the nation for his inappropriate behavior and for undermining the sanctity of the Lok Sabha, which is a departure from the established norms of parliamentary conduct.
