early times report JAMMU, Aug 14: Senior BJP leader Mr. Devender Singh Rana emphasized the urgent need for a significant initiative to ensure the widespread reach of Sanskrit among the masses. He stated that such an effort is crucial for the preservation and promotion of the ancient language, culture, and heritage. Mr. Devender Rana's remarks came as he flagged off the Sanskrit Shobhayatra and 'Meri Mati Mera Desh Abhiyan', organized by Chudamani Sanskrit Sanstha, Basholi, and Shri Kailakh Jyotish Evam Vedic Sansthan Trust in collaboration with the Central Sanskrit University, Sh. Ranbir Campus, Kote Bhalwal, Jammu. The procession commenced at Shri Raghunath Ji Temple and concluded at Parade Ground, Jammu. Dignitaries including Mahant Rohit, Head of Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, Director of Central Sanskrit University Madan Mohan Jha, Mr. R.K. Chibber, Ex-Chairman J&K Bank, Mr. Deepak Gupta, President of Ware House Association Jammu, and others were present at the event. Mr. Devender Rana described Sanskrit as a treasure trove of Indian heritage and called for its extensive promotion, particularly through its inclusion in academic curricula. He stressed that imparting the language to the younger generation is crucial for connecting them with their time-tested heritage. Referring to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's efforts in restoring India's cultural pride on the global stage, Mr. Rana highlighted that Sanskrit is the language of Indian civilization and should be the cornerstone of Indian culture. Mr. Rana also mentioned a memorandum drafted by Mahant Rohit Shastri, requesting the establishment of a separate Sanskrit University in Jammu and Kashmir. He assured that this issue would be taken up with Lieutenant Governor Mr. Manoj Sinha. Director Madan Mohan Jha emphasized the need to make Sanskrit a language of the people in order to strengthen India's ancient traditions. He announced a public awareness campaign for Sanskrit through processions during the Sanskrit week. Mahant Rohit, in his address, explained that the procession traveled from Shri Raghunath Temple to the parade ground via Purani Mandi. Various dignitaries, university students, teachers, Ware House Association members, businessmen, and citizens participated. Deepak Gupta, President of the Warehouse Association, supported Mahant Rohit Shastri's initiatives for establishing Sanskrit Gurukuls, Yagyashalas, Pakshalas, and Gaushalas in temples. The procession received warm welcomes at different locations, and guests were honored. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including SP City Kulbir Handa, SDPO Sunil Kesar, and representatives from different organizations. The initiative aims to promote Sanskrit and its cultural significance, marking a step towards preserving India's rich linguistic and heritage diversity. |
