Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 17: The Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) commemorated the 86th birth anniversary of Prof. Bhim Singh by paying heartfelt floral tributes to the revered leader in Jammu today. Political Advisor and senior JKNPP leader Bansi Lal Sharma, along with other prominent figures, paid their respects to the remarkable legacy of Prof. Bhim Singh in the political history of Jammu & Kashmir. The leaders, joined by numerous party workers, gathered to honor the memory of the visionary leader. Reflecting on the life and achievements of Prof. Bhim Singh, Bansi Lal Sharma praised him as an inspirational figure and a distinguished statesman. He highlighted Prof. Bhim Singh's fervent commitment to politics as a vehicle for reform, noting how he consistently advocated for the rights and justice of all regions within J&K. Bansi Lal stated, "Prof. Sahib exemplified the principles of 'Rights and Justice' (Haq aur Insaaf) beyond mere party affiliations." Recounting Prof. Bhim Singh's remarkable journey, Bansi Lal Sharma elaborated, "Born in the village of Bhugterian in Ramnagar Tehsil, Jammu Pradesh, Prof. Bhim Singh's education began in his hometown and later extended to the Prince of Wales College in Jammu. After enduring significant struggles, including imprisonment in J&K, he ultimately reached Aligarh Muslim University, where he earned his M.A., LL.B. degrees. Notably, his last examination was completed within the confines of Aligarh jail, where he was detained for leading a student movement advocating for Aligarh Muslim University's survival. Additionally, he embarked on a global journey, traversing nearly 240 countries on a motorcycle over five years. Amidst these travels, he earned his Bar-at-Law in London and attained an LL.M degree with distinction from London University. Prof. Bhim Singh initially joined the Congress party and was elected as a Congress member in 1977 in J&K. However, he later resigned from the Congress, forming the J&K National Panthers Party in 1982. His visionary stance echoed through his words, 'My religion is humanity, and my home is India, whereas the world is my country.'" Harsh Dev Singh, State President of JKNPP, who was in New Delhi, conveyed his tributes to Prof. Bhim Singh through a telephonic message. He urged party leaders and workers to uphold the mission of "Haq and Insaf" (Rights and Justice) and stand firm in the fight for the restoration of the state's 200-year recognition, which was reduced to a Union Territory by the BJP government on August 5, 2019. He emphasized that the JKNPP's battle in the Supreme Court to reinstate Assembly elections in J&K will be pursued with unwavering determination. Harsh Dev Singh called upon party members to bolster grassroots support, underscoring that only JKNPP has the potential to navigate the current socio-political challenges and lead the people towards progress.
