SJVN honored with first prize of 'NTPC Rajbhasha Shield 2023'

SHIMLA, Aug 17: In a moment of pride and recognition, SJVN (formerly Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited) has been awarded the prestigious First Prize of the 'NTPC Rajbhasha Shield 2023' for its exemplary implementation of the Official Language Policy. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, was presented with this honor by R. K Singh, the Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy.
Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel) of SJVN, and various other senior officials from the Ministry of Power, other power public sector units (PSUs), and SJVN were also present at the event, held in Shimla.
Expressing his appreciation, Sharma highlighted that the award signifies SJVN's outstanding efforts in promoting and effectively implementing the Rajbhasha (official language) policy across its projects and offices.
Nand Lal Sharma shared that SJVN had previously secured the NTPC Rajbhasha Shield Consolation Prize for the year 2021-22. These esteemed awards were presented during a meeting of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Power, conducted in New Delhi. The NTPC Rajbhasha Shield Award is an annual recognition conferred by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, honoring corporations for their dedicated endeavors towards the propagation and use of the Official Language Policy.
As a vital facet of corporate governance, the adherence to the Official Language Policy is closely monitored by the Ministry of Power across all its entities. Alongside its commendable achievements in electricity generation, SJVN takes immense pride in its role of propagating the nation's official language across the country. This accomplishment reinforces SJVN's commitment to contributing significantly to the national initiative aimed at enhancing the use of Hindi.
