Early Times Report POONCH, Aug 18: A dynamic and insightful 3-day Multi-Media Exhibition (ICOP) on key government initiatives such as "9 Years of Seva Sushasan aur Karib Kalyan," "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat," "Mission LiFE," and "G-20 Presidency" was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, Yasin Mohd. Chaudhary. The exhibition is organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The event took place at the Base Camp of the Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra, College Ground, Poonch. The inauguration was graced by the presence of Ghulam Abbas, Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Communication for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Other notable attendees included Madan Mohan Singh, Commandant 38 CRPF; Tahir Mustafa Malik, ADC; Sh. Devender Singh, 2IC-38 CRPF; Khalid Hussain, DPO ICDS, Poonch; Riyaz Ahmed, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti PHE Poonch; and Dr. Tanvi, CEO of Tourism, among others. Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary emphasized the importance of regularly conducting awareness programs about various Government of India schemes, especially in remote border areas like Balakot, to ensure that the general public is well-informed about the benefits they offer. Ghulam Abbas, Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Communication, J&K, Ladakh, highlighted the government's dedication to uplifting the nation's impoverished through an array of centrally sponsored schemes and programs, showcasing the transformative impact these pro-poor initiatives have brought about. The exhibition features a comprehensive photo display spotlighting the achievements of the Government of India across diverse domains. The exhibition serves as an enlightening platform, designed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, to inform visitors about various government schemes. The event offers visitors the opportunity to engage in selfie corners, view displays, attend film shows, receive flyers and booklets related to the showcased schemes, participate in an open quiz about centrally sponsored schemes and current affairs, showcase their talents, and engage with stalls set up by various departments. Stalls representing the ICDS Department, Social Welfare Department, Rural Development Department, Health Department, and Jal Shakti Department are present, and resource persons from these departments have addressed the audience about their respective schemes. The event also includes expert lectures on CSS (Centrally Sponsored Schemes) by resource persons from various departments. Officers, officials from various departments, locals, students, and teachers have participated in the program. The exhibition will remain open to the pilgrims of the Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra over the course of three days from August 18th to 20th. The local community of Poonch is invited to visit the exhibition between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and entry is free. The event aims to promote awareness and understanding of the government's initiatives and engage the youth in a meaningful dialogue. |
