JAMMU, Aug 19: Inspector Vikram Choudhary SI, a seasoned expert in the realm of cybercrime investigation, recently conducted a comprehensive workshop on cyber security at the Cambridge International School in Purkhoo Camp, Domana, Jammu. With a background in the Crime Branch, Jammu & Kashmir, and a pivotal role in the Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE), Inspector Choudhary engaged students from Grades 7 to 11, enlightening them about the importance of cyber security and safety.
During the workshop, Inspector Vikram Choudhary drew upon his extensive experience in the field of cyber security to educate the students about the intricacies of cybercrime. He highlighted the characteristics of cybercrime and provided valuable insights into various forms of digital offenses. The students gained knowledge about safeguarding themselves from the threats of cyberbullying and other online dangers.
Addressing the students, Choudhary delved into several pertinent topics such as cyber stalking, cyber grooming, credit and debit card skimming, phishing attacks, crypto jacking, and hashing. The interactive session shed light on the risks associated with online gaming, emphasizing the need for cautious online behavior.
Furthermore, Inspector Choudhary introduced the students to tools for encryption and security. Informed about these technologies, the students were better equipped to understand digital security and its importance in the modern world.
Towards the conclusion of the workshop, Inspector Choudhary guided the students on how to report cybercrimes effectively. He provided valuable information on platforms such as cybercrime.gov.in, the JKeCOP mobile app, reporting crimes at CICE and cyber police stations, as well as local police stations. This aspect of the workshop empowered students with actionable steps to take in case they encounter or witness any cybercrime activities.
The workshop proved to be both enlightening and interactive, allowing the students to gain a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape of cyber threats and the measures to protect themselves and their digital presence.
