JKPCC conducts Interactive meet cum plantation drive at Industrial area Gangyal | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 19: Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee today held an interactive meet with the Entrepreneurs of Industrial Area Gangyal. The meeting was chaired by Vasu Yadav, Chairman, JKPCC, K. Ramesh Kumar, Member Secretary and Sat Paul, Regional Director JKPCC Jammu were also present. On the occasion, plantation drive was carried out in the premises of Association of Industries Gangyal by the JKPCC Divisional Office, Jammu South. The meeting was arranged by the Industrial Association Gangyal in association with JK PCC Divisional Office Jammu South, for conducting JK Green Drive Event, where under plantation drive was carried out by the industrial units in their respective premises. The authorities of PCC were informed by the Association Members that the majority of the industrial units have participated in this plantation drive and have vouched to protect the environment. A LiFE Pledge in this regard was also taken by all the members present there. During the meeting, cloth bags were also distributed amongst the members of the industries to promote alternatives to the polythene bags. Chairman emphasized that environmental compliances need to be followed in letter and spirit by the industries and also advised that banned carry bags and single use plastic shall not be used as the same are detrimental for the human health and environment. President of the Association T. S. Reen while welcoming the new Chairman JKPCC and the visit of his team to the Industrial area Gangyal, expressed gratitude for processing majority of the online consent cases on priority and hoped that in future also the cases will be processed within the shortest possible time. While speaking on the occasion Chairman, JKPCC Vasu Yadav, expressed that JKPCC being a regulatory authority needs support from the Industry also, to strike a balance between the implementation of the rules and facilitating the industry and providing an eco-system for sustainable growth. During the course of the meeting, different issues concerning the Industry were brought into the notice of the authorities of J&K PCC and on-spot directions were issued by the Chairman JKPCC for resolving the same. |
