JKTF leadership visits remote areas, addresses teacher concerns | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 21: Ganesh Khajuria, Chairman of JKTF J&K UT (Jammu and Kashmir Teachers' Forum), led a team of senior leaders including Vice President S. Surat Toofani, District President Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Zonal Presidents, and other prominent members, to visit the remote area of Mallah in Jammu district. The visit aimed to engage with teachers and address pressing issues in the education sector. During the meeting, which saw the attendance of almost all teachers in the area, local concerns related to the Education Department were brought to the forefront. The Sarpanch of Panchayat Mallah also joined the meeting, appealing to Chairman Khajuria to address the severe shortage of teaching staff in the area's schools. He highlighted that not only are the schools understaffed, but even the High Schools are functioning without Headmasters. This situation has raised serious concerns about the future of underprivileged students in the region. In another meeting held at the Dak Bungalow in Sunderbani, organized by the JKTF Rajouri team, Chairman Ganesh Khajuria and his team, along with leaders from the JKTF Rajouri, discussed strategies to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level. The focus was also on upcoming protests advocating for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme and the discontinuation of the NPS (New Pension Scheme). Chairman Khajuria assured the attendees that efforts would be made to provide much-needed teaching staff to remote areas like Mallah. He acknowledged the critical role of teachers in the lives of students, especially in regions where parental education is limited. Emphasizing the need for unity and dedication, Khajuria urged activists to bolster the forum at the grassroots level and prepare for a sustained struggle to reinstate the Old Pension Scheme. Senior leaders including Shri S.S. Tufaani, Shri Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Shri Pawan Sharma, and Shri Rakesh Singh also addressed the meetings, sharing their perspectives on these critical issues. The meetings were attended by a significant number of teachers and members of the JKTF, who actively voiced their concerns and opinions. The commitment of the JKTF to address the concerns of teachers and promote their welfare was evident throughout the discussions. |
