agencies NEW DELHI, Aug 21: NHPC, India's premier Hydropower Company, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with RITES for the construction of a railway siding at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh. This railway siding will serve NHPC's 2880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project. The MoU signing took place at NHPC's Corporate Office on August 21, 2023. The MoU was signed by the General Manager (Civil) of Dibang and the Executive Director of RITES, in the presence of Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) NHPC, ED (Dibang), and the concerned ED at NHPC's Corporate Office. NHPC Limited boasts a total installed capacity of 7097.2 MW in renewable power, including wind and solar, across its 25 power stations, including 1520 MW through its subsidiary. RITES Limited, a Miniratna (Category-I) Schedule 'A' Public Sector Enterprise, is a prominent player in the transport consultancy and engineering sector in India. The strategic partnership between NHPC and RITES capitalizes on the strengths of both organizations. RITES, acting as a Project Management Consultant, will provide comprehensive and efficient solutions for the development of rail infrastructure facilities for NHPC's Dibang project and other upcoming ventures in Arunachal Pradesh. |
