50 quintals of banned polythene bags seized from train at Jammu Tawi Rly Stn | | | Jammu, Aug 27: Acting swiftly on reliable inputs, the joint team of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Pollution Control Board and General Railway Police (GRP) on Sunday morning seized around 50 quintals of banned polythene bags at Jammu Tawi Railway Station. A senior official said that information received that approximately 50 quintals of banned polythene bags concealed in 166 boxes are being transported in Shree Shakti Express on way from Delhi towards Jammu the teams of Pollution Control Board and Jammu Municipal Corporation were informed accordingly. “On the arrival of the train at the platform, the polythene bags were dropped along with other stuff, parcels and on checking, 166 packets of polythene were found and were owned by none,” they said. A case was registered under relevant sections at Police Station GRP Jammu. Meanwhile, the team headed by Dr. Vinod Sharma from JMC and Arshad Malik from PCB flanked by GRP Jammu led by SDPO Railways Jammu Albina Malik with special team on ground by Inspector Niaz Ahmed, Inspector Madan Sharma under the supervision and guidance of SSP Railways Jammu Mohan LaL Kaith, conducted the operation. |
