| 09 vehicles involved in illegal mining seized by Jammu police | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 28: Jammu Police has taken a resolute stance against the issue of illegal mining through a multi-pronged strategy. Acting on specific information, police teams from various police stations including PS Bishnah, PS Akhnoor, PS Nagrota, PS Gharota, PP Chowki Choura, PP Pounichak, and BPP Agra Chak conducted raids and successfully seized 09 vehicles that were engaged in illegal mining. The details of the seized vehicles are as follows:
• PS Bishnah seized two vehicles, including one tractor trolley (Registration No. JK02BC 5890) and one dumper (Registration No. JK02CH9904).
• PS Akhnoor seized one dumper (Registration No. JK02BU 9287).
• PS Nagrota seized one tractor trolley without registration.
• PS Gharota seized one tractor trolley (Registration No. JK02CB 6984).
• PP Chowki Choura seized two vehicles, including one Excavator (JCB) (Registration No. JK02CP 7354) and one tractor trolley (Registration No. JK02CV-9720).
• PP Pounichak seized one tractor trolley (Registration No. JK02CD 4551).
• BPP Agra Chak seized one tractor trolley (Registration No. JK21C-6960).
The seizures were carried out by the respective Station House Officers (SHOs) and officers in charge of the police stations involved. The Deputy Mining Officer (DMO) of Jammu was also informed about the actions taken.
These mining activities were conducted in clear violation of the orders of the Hon’ble High Court of Jammu and Kashmir. In a bid to curb illegal mining and hold violators accountable, Jammu Police has initiated strict actions against those involved in such activities. |
