SUNDERBANI, Aug 29: In a remarkable showcase of unwavering dedication to health and well-being, the Physical Education and Sports Department of GDC Sunderbani concluded an exhilarating weeklong celebration dedicated to the "Fit India Mission." This commemoration, paying tribute to the hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, aimed to instill the values of physical fitness, mental wellness, and a healthier lifestyle within the college's students, faculty, and staff.
The week's festivities burst into action with a vibrant array of activities meticulously designed to ignite movement and mindfulness among participants. The mornings began with invigorating yoga sessions that greeted the sunrise, setting the tone for the day. The campus buzzed with energy as group workouts engaged participants, embodying the very essence of the Fit India Mission.
Culminating in a grand finale, the week saw a spirited fun run that welcomed participants from all corners of the community. This run symbolized the collective stride towards enhanced fitness and vitality, uniting individuals from diverse backgrounds in a shared commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
The pinnacle of the celebration was the prize distribution ceremony, a heartfelt acknowledgment of individuals and teams who showcased exceptional dedication and performance across various categories. Winners of sports competitions and recipients of special recognition were awarded trophies, certificates, and other accolades, fostering a sense of achievement and motivation.
Throughout the event, a palpable sense of camaraderie and healthy competition prevailed, demonstrating the college's vibrant spirit and commitment to holistic well-being. The entire program was meticulously organized under the guidance of Rafiq Ahmad Rather, the Librarian and Sports Coordinator, who received invaluable assistance from dedicated student volunteers, particularly Neeraj Kumar and Karan Verma.
Esteemed faculty members including Prof. Mohd Azam, Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Prof. Paras Ram, Prof. Rabinder Kumar, Prof. Sham Lal, Prof. Mukesh Kumar, Prof. Beant Singh, and Prof. Sheraz Kousser graced the prize distribution ceremony, providing their unwavering support to encourage and inspire participating students.
