8/29/2023 11:22:03 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 29: National Conference will deliver corruption free governance to the Jammuites and provide the people respite from the miseries thrust upon them by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Govt, if National Conference, the only secular party of Jammu and Kashmir, is voted to power in upcoming elections of ULB.
This was expressed by Rattan Lal Gupta, NC Provincial President Jammu while addressing a meeting of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Core Committee of Jammu Urban here today at Sher-e- Kashmir Bhavan, Jammu.
Today’s meeting of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Core Committee was held to gear up for the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) polls by adopting a fool proof result- oriented strategy. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chander Mohan Sharma, National Conference District President Jammu (Urban).
During the meeting, the NC leaders conducted a ward-wise analysis of the existing status and after holding deliberations at length formulated the appropriate strategy for the upcoming ULB polls. Rattan Lal Gupta asserted that if the people voted National Conference to power, it will provide not only corruption free governance to the Jammuites but will also roll back property tax, will open health centres at Ward level, provide regular water and 24X7 power supply in each and every concerned area.
While slamming the Govt for failure to resolve Sarore Toll Plaza issue, the provincial president said that not only the Jammu Pathankot National Highway but even the roads in Jammu City are lying in utter dilapidated condition in the garb of Smart City thus causing much inconvenience to the common people. Expressing lament over the Union Minister Gadkari’s assurance in the Lok Sabha that no Toll Plaza will be established within 60 km range and all illegal toll plazas will be lifted across the Country if establishment within 60 Kms, he said that loot in the name of toll continues at Sarore Toll Plaza in J&K. He appealed to Nitin Gadkari to issue directions to your Ministry to immediately remove the Toll Plaza at Sarore as it is illegal as per the rules and norms. He also demanded that the ongoing installation of Smart Meters in Jammu be stalled and the decision on the issue be left to the popular Govt after Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, Rattan Lal also criticized the Govt for not giving the due share of J&K youths and asked the Govt to fulfil its promise of providing 50000 govt. jobs to Jammu and Kashmir youth under the ongoing Amrit Kaal Ka Mahotsav programme. At last the NC leader asked the party workers to gear up for upcoming ULB polls in J&K ensuring the party’s unprecedented success.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, provincial Secretary of JKNC, called for unity among the people and urged their support for the J&K National Conference in the forthcoming polls.
Chander Mohan Sharma assured the Provincial President that the party cadre especially the foot soldiers will leave no stone unturned in ensuring success of the party in the upcoming ULB elections by working relentlessly as per the strategy formulated in today’s meeting.
Among those who were present in the meeting include:- Jugal Mahajan Treasurer, Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell, Abdul Gani Teli Chairman OBC Cell, Ashok Dogra Ex- Corporator, Ravi Dogra Central Zone Vice President, Rakesh Singh Raka Central Zone Vice President and others.
