MP Khatana commends PM Modi's decision to slash gas cylinder price, bringing festive cheer
8/30/2023 10:57:05 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Aug 30: Rajya Sabha BJP MP Er. Gulam Ali Khatana has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent announcement of a Rs. 200 reduction in the price of gas cylinders. The timely reduction, coinciding with the festive occasions of Raksha Bandhan and Onam, has garnered appreciation for its potential to alleviate financial burdens on households.
MP Gulam Ali praised the decision, stating that PM Modi's initiative serves as a gift to "matrushakti" (maternal energy) during this celebratory period. This price reduction is expected to benefit millions of consumers, particularly those availing the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The scheme aims to provide clean cooking gas connections to economically disadvantaged households. With an additional allocation of 75 lakh new gas connections, the program's reach will expand to a total of 10.35 crore connections.
Currently, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala gas beneficiaries receive a subsidy of Rs. 200 on each refill. With the reduction in gas cylinder prices, beneficiaries stand to gain further by saving Rs. 400 on each cylinder refill.
MP Gulam Ali highlighted Prime Minister Modi's relentless dedication to serving the welfare of the populace, emphasizing that his efforts are continuous and unwavering. The statement further underscored that over 80 crore individuals have already benefited from free ration distributions, illustrating the government's commitment to assisting the needy.
Concluding, MP Gulam Ali assured the public that the BJP-led government remains committed to its promise of working for the betterment of the common masses, regardless of challenges that may arise.
As the nation welcomes the twin festivals of Raksha Bandhan and Onam, this reduction in gas cylinder prices serves as a noteworthy gesture, reflecting the government's efforts to provide financial relief and enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
