JK Medical Employees Federation celebrates breakthrough for pharmacists post abrogation of Article 370
8/30/2023 10:57:20 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 30: The Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation, led by President Sh. Sushil Sudan, a Member of the Pharmacy Council of India, is rejoicing over a significant achievement in favor of left-out pharmacists following the abrogation of Article 370. Through unwavering determination and relentless efforts, the federation successfully resolved the long-standing issue related to the registration of approximately 30,000 pending cases of Medical Assistants/Pharmacists.
The federation highlights that this accomplishment is a monumental victory for pharmacists who had been grappling with registration-related challenges. The breakthrough came on August 15, 2023, when the Government of India passed Order No. 29 of 2023, amending Section 32C of the Pharmacy Act 2011. This development was a result of extensive advocacy by the Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation, addressing issues that arose post the abrogation of Article 370.
The federation, in its pursuit of change, repeatedly presented representations to the government, emphasizing the need for the amendment of Section 32(c). Multiple queries raised by different departments were promptly collated and submitted to the relevant authorities. Finally, the State Administrative Council acceded to the amendment in Section 32(c) of the Pharmacy Act 2011.
A formal notification, No. JKPC - 284Estt-793-807, dated August 20, 2023, has been issued, signaling that all the previously overlooked pharmacists are now eligible for registration from September 1, 2023.
The Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation extends profound gratitude to the Government of India, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State Health & Family Welfare Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Mehta, Administrative Secretary Health and Medical Education Bhupinder Kumar, Dr. Mantu Kumar M Patel of the Resident Pharmacy Council of India, and Lotika Khajuria, Ex Officio President of Jammu and Kashmir Pharmacy Council.
The federation acknowledges the diligent efforts of all involved and expresses its appreciation to those who attended the press conference, including Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Shaffket Hussain, Bahadur Singh Dogra, Madan Lal Sharma, Dalip Choudhary, Javed Iqbal Bhat, Sandeep Pandita, Surjeet Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Sham Sunder, Subash Choudhary, Jaswinder Singh, Kuldeep Dabgotra, and Parfulat Singh.
