Udhampur admin finalises arrangements for Digi -Week mela

UDHAMPUR, Aug 30: The preparations for the Digi Week Mela were today finalized by district administration Udhampur scheduled to begin from August 31. The event aims to digitally empower citizens by acquanting them with the multiple online services and other digital advancements made in different sectors.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, chaired a meeting of different departments in the DC Office's Conference Hall to ensure the smooth execution of the event.
Among those present were Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rafiq Ahmed Jaral; Chief Planning Officer, Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar and other senior officers from different departments.
It was decided that the District Administration will organize a three-day Digi Mela from August 31st to September 2nd, 2023, at Riwayat Hall Udhampur.
Detailed discussions were held regarding essential arrangements for the event, including security, magistrates' deployment, departmental stalls installation, sanitation, medical services, and provisions for drinking water and power supply.
The Executive Engineer of the Power Development Department (PDD) was tasked with ensuring uninterrupted power supply, while the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department was directed to provide drinking water facilities.
Various departments were instructed to set up stalls showcasing their online programs and services for the public.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Corporation (MC) was responsible for maintaining cleanliness on the premises, and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was asked to deploy paramedical staff and ensure medical facilities at the event site.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Udhampur was in charge of deploying sufficient security personnel at the venue.
The District Panchayat Officer of Udhampur would act as the Program Coordinator, overseeing timely stall installations and organizing the event with the necessary manpower.
Additionally, the Chief Education Officer of Udhampur and the Principals of Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools were directed to ensure student participation along with school staff.
The District Information Officer (DIO) was tasked with installation of the LED wall and ensure comprehensive coverage of the event.
