GDC Ramgarh promotes digital empowerment with Poster-Making Competition

JAMMU, Sept 4: GDC Ramgarh, in conjunction with the ongoing 'J&K Digital Week-2023,' organized an inspiring poster-making competition on 'Digital Empowerment of Citizens' on September 4, 2023. This event was part of a series of activities orchestrated by the NSS unit 'Prabha' and the Department of Computer Application, guided by the capable leadership and coordination of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the Principal of the College.
The organizing committee overseeing the events during J&K Digital Week-2023 comprises Dr. Shamsher Lal, Dr. Rahul Kundal, and Sunil Kumar.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Shamsher Lal, NSS Program Officer and Coordinator, emphasized the profound impact of digital technology on modern life. He highlighted how technology has revolutionized various aspects of daily life, from travel and work to shopping, entertainment, and communication. Digital technology has become an integral part of virtually every electronic device and machinery.
Mr. Sunil Kumar, a faculty member in the Department of Computer Application, elaborated on the advantages of digital technology. He pointed out that digital advancements have led to devices becoming more compact, faster, lighter, and versatile. Enormous amounts of information can now be stored locally or remotely, and data can be transmitted virtually instantaneously. The very definition of "information" has expanded to include various media formats such as photos, audio, and video, transcending traditional text and numbers.
The competition saw the participation of enthusiastic students showcasing their creativity and insights into the theme of digital empowerment. The panel of judges for the competition included Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma, and Dr. Ekta Rani.
The winners of the competition were as follows:
First Place: Vikas Verma of Semester-V
Second Place: Rimpy Angral of Semester-V
Third Place: Muskan Verma of Semester-V
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Shamsher Lal, Prof. Risha Kumari, Dr. Ekta Rani, Dr. Rahul Kundal, Sunil Kumar, Dr. Shivali Choudhary, Priya Sharma, and Dr. Paramjeet Kour.
