Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 5: Government Degree College (GDC) Khour came alive with joy and reverence as it celebrated Teachers' Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India's first Vice-President and second President. Dr. Radhakrishnan, a renowned academician and Bharat Ratna awardee, has left an indelible mark on India's educational landscape. The day was marked with a series of cultural activities presented by the students, showcasing their diverse talents. The program included spirited dances, soulful singing, eloquent poetry recitations, and heartfelt speeches in honor of Dr. Radhakrishnan. The students also took the opportunity to bestow titles upon their beloved teachers, recognizing their unique contributions. The celebration took a lively turn as the students engaged their teachers in friendly games, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity. Addressing the students, the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) T K Sharma, emphasized the pivotal role teachers play in society. He hailed them as the cornerstones of education, mentors who empower students with knowledge and fortitude, and guides who teach them to navigate life's challenges. Dr. Sharma underscored the commitment of teachers in molding students into responsible and capable members of society. Prof. Tarsem Lal, the IQAC Convenor, also shared his insights with the students, highlighting the dedicated efforts made by teachers to transform each student into a critical and skilled individual.
