Jammu, Sept 6: The 6th Raja Ravi Varma Chitrakar Samman Sammaroh CHITRANJALI 2023 Award ceremony was recently organized by Megh Mandal Sansthan, an NGO based in Rajasthan, in collaboration with Lalit Kala Akademi New Delhi at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, New Delhi. The event saw the presence of distinguished guests, including Sh. Arif Mohd Khan, Hon’ble Governor of Kerala, Sh. G.C. Murmu, Auditor General of India, and MS Vimlesh Brijwall, Secretary of Megh Mandal Sansthan. At this Chitrakar Samman Sammaroh, M. Akram Khan, a renowned artist from Jammu and Kashmir, was honored with the Chitranjali-2023 award for his remarkable contribution to the field of Visual Art and Paintings. Born in District Reasi, M. Akram Khan has actively participated in over 60 national and international art exhibitions and camps across Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Sikkim, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, Chandigarh, Patna (Bihar), Amritsar (Punjab), Germany, Ludhiana (Punjab), Karnataka, and more. His artistic work has earned him numerous awards and recognition. Speaking at the event, Arif Mohd Khan, Hon’ble Governor of Kerala, highlighted the rich history, culture, and traditions of India that make it unique. He praised Raja Ravi Varma as one of the greatest painters in the history of Indian art, whose works have been widely accepted and used for worship throughout India, particularly his portrayal of Hindu deities and episodes from the epics and Puranas. In the Chaitranjali 2023 awards ceremony, 15 talented painters and artists from across India were honored. This list includes Dilip Tamuli, Harsh Vardhan Sharma, Shyam Sharma, Kalyan Prashad Joshi, Kania Lal Patel, Manisha Jha, Mohd Akram Khan, Krishna Priya, Anuradha Tandon, Noval Kishore, Anuradha Thakur, Seema Bhalla, Sangeeta Singh, Prashant K. Sarkar, and Vigyan Vrat. The NGO Megh Mandal Sansthan, led by Vimlesh Brijwall, has been committed to various noble causes aimed at the betterment of society. Alongside promoting sustainable development across various sectors to bring positive changes in the lives of underprivileged children, the organization also focuses on preserving Indian art, culture, and traditions. The award ceremony served as a recognition of artistic excellence and a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of India. |
