Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 7: In a testament to their commitment to excellence, faculty members from Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) continue to shine on the global stage. Er. Loveneesh Talwar, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, was recently invited as a Guest Speaker by SEMS Welfare Foundation to address an international webinar. The topic of his presentation, "Passion as a Catalyst for Innovation in Teaching," underscored the importance of creative teaching approaches in the 21st century.
SEMS Welfare Foundation (SWF) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to a wide range of social causes, including education, women's empowerment, skill development, and more. SEMS Group, an integral part of SWF, has a strong network of professionals and experts committed to contributing to society through education and research.
During his talk, Er. Loveneesh Talwar delved into various methodologies that modern educators should be familiar with, such as flipped classrooms, project-based learning, cooperative learning, and problem-based learning. He also discussed both conventional and non-conventional teaching methods, offering valuable insights into innovative classroom practices.
Among the key takeaways from his presentation were practical tips for fostering innovation in teaching:
Openness to New Ideas: Embrace novel concepts and be willing to experiment in the classroom.
Tailored Instruction: Customize teaching approaches to suit the unique needs of each student.
Leveraging Technology: Utilize technology to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
Student-Centered Learning: Create collaborative environments that prioritize student engagement.
Risk-Taking: Encourage students to take risks and learn from failure.
Celebrating Success: Acknowledge and celebrate student achievements.
Er. Loveneesh Talwar expressed his gratitude to Mr. Abhishek for extending the invitation to share his expertise as a guest lecturer. He highlighted the significant benefits of participating in such knowledge-sharing events, not only for personal growth but also for motivating fellow faculty members to engage in similar opportunities. Additionally, he thanked the management of YCET, including Dr. (Prof.) Mukesh Kr. Rana, Director of YCET, and Er. Dinesh Gupta, Dean Academics at YCET, for their unwavering support.
This notable recognition of YCET faculty members on the international stage reinforces the institution's commitment to fostering excellence in education and research, reflecting its motto: "Where excellence is just the beginning."
